Peacifica needs your support to help ensure a peaceful future for the region and for Australia.
Pacific islander communities are working for a peaceful and secure future but face a number of threats to their peace and stability. Several places, including Fiji, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste and Bougainville have a history of violence and political turmoil. Many countries are dealing with the effects of competition for scarce mineral, forest and ocean resources. All Pacific territories experience some of the world's highest levels of violence against women, and all are feeling the effects of climate change. Each of these is significant in itself, but together they increase the risk of violent conflict.
Peacifica - building peace in the Pacific

Peacifica was established in 2017 and is dedicated to building peace in the Pacific. We believe that promoting and sustaining peaceful societies is a critical challenge that Pacific Islanders and Australians must meet together. We recognise that many Pacific islanders have been working for peace for many years, and we are ready to help.

Peacifica works with partners in the region on peacebuilding projects and research and advocates for a peace-focused and just foreign policy in Australia. We have completed two large research projects and are gearing up for our first community based peacebuilding projects.

Our unique expertise has been critical to the success of our advocacy. We are recognised and respected by Australian government policymakers, and have offered advice on the climate change and national security, the Sustainable Development Goals and the overall shape of Australian foreign policy.
